About the Kennel
Godderitz von Grossemeida |
|
During her first Dog Grooming Contest, almost twenty years ago,
Mirjam discovered the “Standard Poodle”. It was love at first sight and we started immediately to search for
a pup. We could’nt find a good pup at that time in The Netherlands. The Poodle club gave us an address in Switzerland. That was our first Standard Poodle “Anja”, she came from Switzerland
to the Netherlands to become the ancestor of Mirjam’s kennel. Anja had a couple of beautiful litters from Danish (Jouet) males. One of her sons was Darius Goderitz von Grossemeida. With Darius,
Mirjam became the first non-American groomer to be the winner of the
“Oster Tournement of Champions”in New York. She became “Invitational
Grand Champion”. Darius was Dutch champion but we have not bred with
him. He was mainly the “model”for grooming contests because of his superb
coat.

His nest sister, “Olgie”however has given us excellent offspring. Her children, “Partout” and “Sans Soussi” are International
champions. Both dogs have the most beautiful character and great charms. Sadly, Sans Soussi died in November 2005 as the result of a fatal
error by the veterinary surgeon and Partout is the father of many
offspring. |

Among these offspring are many champions. His enormously
good character is present in all of his offspring. He is extremely child friendly, charming for his ladies and a good
support for his owner Saskia. Jouet Ode a L’amour (Djinny) and Jouet
Copine the Tarantelle (Pientje) extended the family. Djinny, a black and white female, who also comes from the Jouet
kennel in Denmark only needs one more championship to become
International Champion. In January 2006 she is expecting her first
litter. She will be three years old. Copinne will then be exactly one year old but has already collected
three youth championships to her name. She is just like our white poodles, a dog with a good character.
Breeding large poodles is a hobby which we are totally commited to
and we are as professional as possible. We strive for dogs with a balanced character, cheerful and without
fear. As wel as a good character a healthy and well built dog is
important, and that is the reason that we go (measured) to the show
with the dogs. |
